Instant Communication, Presence and Messaging software based on XMPP

Netfors now provides XMPP (eXtensible Messaging and Presence Protocol), a proven technology used for real-time communication, powering applications such as IM, presence and collaboration.

The XMPP servers, clients and programming libraries support the fundamental features of an Instant Messaging (IM) system:

  • one-to-one and multi-party messaging
  • presence subscriptions and notifications – telling the servers the state of the XMPP entity, whether that is online/offline/busy – basically whether the user is there and ready to receive messages or not.
  •  contact lists.

In addition to the presence and messaging capabilities, XMPP has also seen use in VoIP, for secure and reliable voice and video calls, without glitching, as well as gaming and IoT applications, helping to develop a new series of extensions that will help sensors and actuators using XMPP to exchange information in real time.

XMPP is a secure technology, reliable, scalable and flexible, designed to be extensible and able to grow and accommodate changes.

Used by Google, Apple, Whatsapp, and many other enterprises, XMPP is another useful technology that is finding many new applications beyond simply IM.

This product has already been successfully deployed, and us at Netfors provide integration, customization, development and support.
